The Daily Life of Holly...

I think this is ridiculous.  If you going to ban something that is distracting to someone while driving you would have to ban eating in the car, talking to others in the car, playing with the radio in the car...i could go on...banning it will not stop people from driving.  It's now illegal to talk on the phone in your car in North Carolina and people still do it.  Cops are not stoping people. 

Banning it will not fix the situation. 

It's been a while since my last post.  I've been crazy busy here at work. I know my 2 readers are dissapointed...  It's 8pm and I am sitting in the control room and I am freezing my tail off - It feels like it's 20 degrees in here.  The morning shift is a whole other story - it's soooo cold in the control room here at the station at 5 am when the show starts.  I usually direct the morning show wrapped up in a very thick blanket!  The morning show is a whole new beast now that Mathis has joined up again.  We do our best to keep him in line (to the best of our ability).  He's a blast to work with - although he is very spontaneous, which as a director keeps me on my toes during the show!  Thanks Mathis.  You are making me a better director!  Well I have to go and work on my rundown for the show!  :)

Man, it is very humbling to take a lesson from a three-year-old.  I was hanging out with my nephews the other day and I was talking to my sister and mention that something was 'stupid' and my three-year-old nephew turned toward me and as serious as can be said, "That's not a nice word.  We don't say that word."  And of course I turned red, felt stupid, and replied, "Your right, I didn't mean to say that." 

Talk a about a lesson.  We all could learn alot from three-year-olds.

Three chances of snow in one week???  "We're not in Kansas anymore Toto!"  Does anybody remember the last time that happened in this area??

So, I went tonight to see the movie '27 Dresses'. I always thought I was just a bridesmaid, never a bride...but this poor girl. The movie was everything I expected it to be. It was sooo funny and I really was able to get in touch with the main character in this one. I myself have been in 5 weddings - 3 in one year - and that feels like alot! Now, I am just waiting for my perfect day where everyone pays attention to and looks at me...wait, that's everyday :) lol

Wow!  We got snow!  Beautiful, beautiful snow.  It was so nice to wake up at 2am this morning to a snow covered parking lot outside of my apt.  It was a little tricky getting into work this morning cause the roads were covered but i made it by 3:30am.  We even did a 4 hour show this morning - that was tough - we already think 3 hours is long and then in the last hour we were told we had 2 hours left!  *insert scream here*  However...all of the management brought us doughnuts and biscuts.  That was really nice.  Even though I hate nasty icy weather - I am hoping for some more snow this season!  Have fun in the snow everyone!

This is my first blog and I gotta say...I've never blogged before.  I work on our morning show, Fox News Rising.  I am the techinal director.  It can be a very stressful job but I love every minute of it.  I will try to keep my blog as up to date as possible.  Have a good week!
